Why Intentional Women of the Bible?
For much of my life, I struggled with my identity as a woman. Years ago, during an honest conversation, my mother shared that she regretted not teaching me to be more domesticated. She wondered if, by spending more time teaching me to cook, sew, clean house, and care for a home, I might have been married by now. Like many mothers of her generation, she was influenced by the cultural message that encouraged women to prepare their daughters for careers instead of traditional roles. Looking back, however, my mom would tell you that her greatest desire was simply to raise children who loved Christ. She knew that if I truly followed Jesus, He would direct my path—whether that path included marriage, ministry, a career, or all of the above. Although my family didn't intentionally teach me how to have a personal relationship with Christ, they faithfully took us to church, taught us to pray, celebrated the birth and resurrection of Jesus, and instilled biblical values that became the foundation of my faith. God used those early years to prepare my heart for the day I fully surrendered my life to Him. As I have grown in my walk with Christ, I have found myself drawn to the women of the Bible. Their stories are real. They experienced fear and faith, joy and sorrow, failure and redemption. Some were well-known, while others appeared only briefly in Scripture, yet each one reveals something about the heart of God and His desire to work through ordinary people who are willing to trust Him. This study is an invitation to walk alongside these intentional women and discover how God worked in and through their lives. As you explore their stories, my prayer is that you will gain a deeper understanding of God's character, strengthen your own faith, and embrace the unique purpose He has for your life. Whether you are single, married, young, or older, God is still calling women today to live intentionally for His glory.
